KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Transportation announced it’s making an emergency closure of two lanes on eastbound I-70 Thursday afternoon that may linger into rush hour. The lanes are located on the Lewis and Clark Viaduct and the department anticipates it will need at least two hours to repair expansion joints on the bridge.
A news release indicated that only a single lane of traffic will be open while crews make temporary repairs. Permanent repairs will be completed at a later date. If the bridge is part of your evening commute, plan an alternate route.
