KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Do you live in Missouri? Starting Monday MoDOT wants to hear from you. It wants residents to weigh in on the future road projects your tax dollars could soon fund.
On August 5 Missouri voters will decide on Amendment 7. It’s a ballot measure that would temporarily raise Missouri’s sales tax by ¾ of a cent. The transportation sales tax would pay for as many as 40 proposed projects in the metro alone.
The tax would raise an estimated $4.8 billion. Just last week MoDOT released a draft list of the transportation projects and improvements that the money could be used for.
Starting Monday, June 16 metro residents are asked to attend one of five open houses taking place over the following four days. There you can meet with MoDOT representatives and others to talk about the projects you would or wouldn’t support.
The first meeting is Monday, June 16, from 4-7 p.m. at the Gamber Center, located at 4 SE Independence Avenue, in Lee’s Summit, Mo.

· Tuesday, June 17, 2-5 p.m.: Heritage Hall, 117 W. Kansas St., Liberty, Mo.
· Tuesday, June 17, 4-6 p.m.: Union Station – Grand Hall, East, 30 w. Pershing Rd., Kansas City, Mo.
· Wednesday, June 18, 4-7 p.m.: Vesper Hall, 400 NW Vesper St., Blue Springs, Mo.
· Thursday, June 19, 4-7 p.m.: Truman Memorial Building, 416 W. Maple Ave., Independence, Mo.
