INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — Authorities say that a motorcyclist was killed following a collision with a KCP&L utility truck on 24 Highway on Sunday evening.
According to Independence Police, the 45-year-old Independence man was riding eastbound on 24 Highway east of Sterling at 9:15 p.m. on Sunday night when he struck the utility truck, which was making a left turn onto the highway from a private driveway.
The motocyclist, who has not been identified, was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
The driver of the truck was not injured. He was interviewed by police and released pending further investigation.
