COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Boone County Sheriff’s Department says Columbia police officers arrested University of Missouri football player Corbin Berkstresser early Tuesday morning.

The Columbia Police Department reports Berkstresser, who graduated from Lee’s Summit High School, left the scene of an accident at around 3:35 a.m.

Police arrested Berkstresser for hitting a car parked in the street. They say he left without notifying the car’s owner.

No one was injured in the accident, but Berkstresser’s car reportedly damaged the other car’s front passenger side and rear.

Berkstresser is one of the university’s quarterbacks, and is a redshirt freshman.

He was released on $4,500 bond.
