KANSAS CITY, Mo. — If you had to call a hot dog the “Monarch” what would you put on it?
On Wednesday the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum unveiled a new hot dog to debut at the Heart of America Hot Dog Festival later this year.
The Monarch has pulled pork, red onions, cheese, bacon and jalapenos all on top of the hot dog.
“You can’t be called the Monarch unless you’re good, the Monarchs were as good as they came when it came to the game of baseball,” said Bob Kendrick of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.
The Heart of America Hot Dog Festival will be in its second year. The main musical act will be “Morris Day and the Time.”
The event will take place on August 2 at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.
