NEW ORLEANS, La. — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a mass shooting during a Mother’s Day parade in New Orleans.

New Orleans Police officers took Akein Scott, 19, into custody Wednesday night.  Surveillance video caught him shooting into the crowd watching the parade in the 7th Ward.

The attack injured 19 people, including two children.

Police said Scott is no stranger to the law, claiming he is involved with street gangs and narcotics.

He faces 20 charges of attempted second-degree murder.  Bail was set at $20 million or $500,000 for each count.
