KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Police say gunfire struck Whittier Elementary School on Wednesday afternoon. The incident was reported just after 2 p.m. and no one at the school was injured. Officer Patrick McCallop with KCKPD said the school building was hit with one bullet.
The gunfire came from at least one block away and may have been the result of a drive-by shooting according to police. Officers are investigating to see if any other part of the school building was hit.
