KANSAS CITY, Mo. — In August a Kansas City, Mo., mother and her 3-year-old daughter were murdered in their east side home. But police say no one with information is talking. Tuesday afternoon volunteers will canvass the neighborhood in hopes of getting someone who knows something to speak up.
Myeisha Turner, 28, and her 3-year-old daughter Damiah White were shot to death August 23. Two and a half weeks later there are still no suspects in the double murder. A family member made the gruesome discovery after finding a door open to the home. Turner’s one-year-old son was found alone and crying while his mother and sister lay dead.
Tuesday KC NoVA, the No Violence Alliance, and other volunteers will go door to door in the neighborhoods around Blue Hills Park near the intersection of 53rd and Brooklyn Avenue starting at 2 p.m. They say the goal is to encourage people with any information about what happened to step forward.
Some people in the neighborhood are talking. They say they’re sick of the violence and can’t believe someone could kill a mother and child.
