PIERRE, S.D. States across the north-central U.S. are digging out from a large, early-season snow storm that dropped at least a foot on many cities, but cold temperatures will stay through the week.
Some residents across the Rockies and Upper Midwest received a foot or more of snow — and they’re enduring temperatures that plunged by as much as 50 degrees overnight.
In Oklahoma City, where Tuesday’s high was 80 degrees, the low this morning was 30. A Veterans Day ceremony in Denver had to be moved indoors after temperatures fell into the teens.
Roads in parts of northern Michigan were described as being in “very poor condition” this morning, with 2 to 3 inches of snow falling an hour.
Residents of Chicago are savoring breezy but mild weather with temperatures near 60 before unseasonably cold and wet weather moves in tomorrow.
