MADRID, Spain — Depending on your point of view, the survivor of a lightning strike in Spain is either lucky to be alive, or possibly one of the unluckiest guys in the world.

According to the Spanish-language paper El Mundo, the 53-year-old man was walking down a street in a Madrid suburb late Thursday night when he was hit by lighting, which struck him through his pants and directly in his scrotum before traveling down one of his legs and exiting to the sidewalk through his foot.

The unidentified victim’s son called emergency services, who treated the burns on his scrotum and feet. He is in stable condition in a Madrid hospital, El Mundo reports.

Authorities say that the lightning did not affect the victim’s brain or heart. There is no word on the condition of his testicles.
