(CNN) — Twinkies are set to make their highly anticipated return on July 15, but not before stirring up controversy among the spongy cake lovers.
Hostess will begin freezing Twinkies before shipping in an effort to give them a longer shelf life.
A company spokesman said the change will have “no impact on the quality of the taste.”
Not all of Twinkies’ retailers will receive the product frozen. Companies will have the option if they want their Twinkies frozen or not.
