BELTON, Mo. — Out of 89 sex offenders registered in Northern Cass County, authorities discovered 28 were not compliant with the terms of their parole.

Thursday night at about 10:00 p.m. law enforcement officials from several departments wrapped up their operation to determine how many sex offenders were compliant.

About 40 law enforcement officers from various agencies participated in the operation, named “Operation Northern Cass.”

Participating agencies included:

  • Belton Police Dept.
  • KCMO Police Dept. Career Criminal Taskforce
  • Missouri Probation & Parole
  • Missouri State Highway Patrol
  • Raymore Police Dept.
  • U.S. Marshals Service
  • Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Taskforce

The officers divided into eight teams and together they verified that 40 of the 89 sexual offenders were compliant, 21 could not be verified, 28 were cited for being non-compliant.

Three additional arrests were made on other warrants and charges and 12 new investigations were started because of the operation.

In all, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office has 155 registered sex offenders. “Operation Northern Cass” was conducted throughout the rural and incorporated northern cities of Cass County.
