ORRICK, Mo. — After the sun rose on the town of Orrick, Mo., Monday morning, a mandatory curfew was lifted. The curfew was placed in effect following a tornado the struck Saturday, May 10.
More than a dozen homes were destroyed and nearly 200 others were damaged. The tornado spared few homes in the town of less than 800 people. According to the mayor, two-thirds of the Orrick’s residents suffered damage to their homes.
“I’m just shaken up and sad to see the devastation and, you know, it’s a small town – so much devastation in the town,” Dawn Reznicek, resident, said.

Residents spent the weekend cleaning up. Fortunately, electricity has been restored.
