OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — An Overland Park home was destroyed by a fire on Saturday afternoon.
There were no injuries reported in blaze at the two-story home in the 12600 block of West 126th Street around 3:30 on Saturday afternoon, but firefighters say that a family dog and pet rabbit are believed to have perished in the fire.
The residents of the home—two adults and one child—were not home at the time of the fire.
Authorities say that the home is likely a complete loss. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
A neighboring home was slightly damaged by the fire, but crews were able to extinguish a small fire in the attic to stop it from spreading further.
