OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Police responded to a possible armed robbery at an area Wal-Mart store Tuesday morning.

Shortly after 11:00 am, officers from the Overland Park Police Department responded to a reported robbery at the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, located at 9000 Metcalf Avenue.

Police reported an employee said a black male came up to the customer service counter and handed the employee a note stating he had a gun. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and gave him an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured and no customers were involved.

The suspect left on foot and was last seen running north through the store’s parking lot. He is described as a black male, roughly 5`8″ to 5`10″ tall, with a medium build, and a goatee. He was wearing a dark grey or blue hooded sweatshirt and a black leather jacket.
