OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — A nine-year-old girl told police on Monday night that a tall, white man attempted to abduct her around midday on Monday in the area of 87th and Melrose Street in Overland Park, Kan. A news release says the girl told officers she was grabbed by a man with a blonde, scruffy beard at about 11:45 a.m. However, police say the suspect did not manage to take the girl.
The suspect is described as a white man with a medium build who is approximately six feet tall. He was wearing a long-sleeved red shirt with black pants, black boots and a black hat. The girl said he was driving a small, older model green pickup truck that she described as beat up.
