LAWRENCE, Kan. — Police are investigating after a person was struck and killed by a train in North Lawrence on Sunday afternoon.
The Lawrence Journal World reports around 4 p.m. officers were called to the train tracks at the intersection of 7th and Maple streets where person was struck by a train. The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“At this time, the cause of the accident is not known,” Sgt. Mark Unruh said.
The person has not been identified pending family notification.
