To celebrate the Second Annual Bark Week (a play off Discovery Channel’s Shark Week), Great Plains SPCA will be holding one of their biggest adoption events of the year, appropriately called Barknado! Adoption fees will be $30 for all pets including puppies and kittens. All pets have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated – ready to go home to a forever family!

Doors will open at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10 and the first 50 adopters will receive a special door prize. They’re open all weekend from 11-6:00 on Saturday and Sunday and will have hundreds of pets to choose from each day.

Pet Adoption Centers are in Merriam, KS and Independence, MO.

“Kansas City is an amazing place for shelter animals, plenty of people adopt, but if you have one, why not have another, give that pet a friend, we are always looking for people to adopt,” said Emily Hawkins, Great Plains SPCA.

Please note: Both locations will be closed on Thursday, July 9th to prepare for the adoption event.
