LIBERTY, Mo. — The new Flintlock Road Overpass begins its next phase of construction on Wednesday. And that means road closures.

Beginning Wednesday, Flintlock Road and 76th Street north of Interstate 35 and Liberty Drive on the southern portion of the project will close to traffic until August 2013 to allow crews to tie the overpass into existing streets in the project area.

Liberty Drive will also close between Midjay Drive and Winding Woods Drive. Traffic will be directed to use Midjay Drive, Stewart Road and South Liberty Drive.

Flintlock Road will close at NE 79th Street, and 76th Street will close between North Kentucky Avenue and Church Road. Traffic will be directed to use North Church Road, Route 152 and Shoal Creek Parkway for both road closures.

The $11.5 million project is expected to be completed by August.
