KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Authorities are investigating after a leak on a pipeline on a bridge over the Missouri River leaked an unknown amount of fuel in to the river on Sunday afternoon.
According to authorities, the fuel leak on the six-inch pipe, owned by Magellan, on the Fairfax Bridge between Kansas City, Kansas and Riverside, Missouri, has been stopped, but they are still trying to determine how much of the fuel – suspected to be jet fuel – leaked into the Missouri River.
The leak was reported around 1:45 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say that they are still trying to determine what caused the leak.
