KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A flight that was on its way to New York from California, has since resumed after making an emergency landing at KCI Airport, after a suspicious object found on board, turned out to be a USB flash drive.
American Airlines Flight #24 from San Francisco, California, was on its way to the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, when it was forced to make an emergency landing at the Kansas City International Airport on Sunday. A passenger had discovered what was being called a suspicious looking object inside of a bathroom on the plane.
The crew made the landing as a precaution to the 227 people that were on-board. Passengers were bused from the plane to the terminal. The plane was then isolated on the taxiway, and area authorities were called in to investigate. Flight plans resumed shortly after the object was discovered to have been a misplaced USB flash drive.
