KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Five people — possibly minors — are in custody after an early morning high speed chase with police. The suspects could be wanted in a rash of armed robberies and at least one carjacking that happened overnight on the east side of the city.
Police were on the lookout for the suspect’s blue compact car and spotted it near 72nd and Forrest around 4:20 a.m. The driver took off and led police on a high speed chase that went through Kansas City, Kan., Raytown and back into Missouri.
The suspect’s car ran through red lights, stop signs and drove the wrong way down a one-way street trying to get away from police.
Police laid down stop sticks near State Line and Bannister and flattened their tires. The suspects were arrested in a cul-de-sac near 94th and Court.
No one was injured during the chase.
