KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating after a cab driver was stabbed and her cab stolen on the city’s East Side on Thursday night.
According to Kansas City Missouri Police, the incident happened around 52nd and Sycamore when a passenger – described as a black male, around 20 years of age with a thin build and wearing a black hoodie and carrying a black backpack with a red stripe – refused to pay for a ride from the library at 6000 Wilson Street.
The suspect then stabbed the female driver twice in the back, once in the arm, behind her ear, on her face and through her hand. The injuries are described as severe but not critical.
Police say that they are still looking for the cab, identified as Checker Cab #138, gray in color on the bottom and white on top. Anyone with information should call police or the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
