DOVER, Del. — Three Delaware day care workers were charged with assault and other offenses as investigators say that they videotaped a fight between 3-year-old children in their care, and encouraged the children to beat each other up while they laughed about it.

According to the Associated Press, the three women – all employees of the Hands of Our Future day care center in Dover – were charged on Monday after police obtained a copy of the video.

The day care center’s license has been suspended.

Authorities say that the alleged incident occurred in March of this year.

The mother of one of the children police say was featured in the video says that she was shocked by the allegation, saying that her daughter says that the daycare teachers taught her not to hit back if someone hits her.
