KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police took one man into custody, even as he was treated at the hospital for the bite he received from a police dog, after trying to run from them at 43rd and Garfield Monday morning.

Police said they responded to the scene for an aggravated assault at 46th and Chelsea and chased two suspects to 43rd and Garfield, where they pulled up in front of a house and bailed out of the vehicle.

The police dog got to one of the men. The other got away. He was dressed all in gray, according to police. He was armed with an assault rifle, about six feet tall, 150-170 pounds, brown skin.
