WESTWOOD, Kan. – Police were called to an area Wal-Mart store after a suspect allegedly pulled a gun on an employee there.

Just before 6:00 a.m. Sunday, officers from the Westwood Police Department were dispatched to a reported armed robbery at the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, located at 4701 Mission Road.

It was reported that a suspect entered the store and made a small purchase. As the register was opened the suspect produced a black handgun and demanded money. The suspect left the store in a smaller silver SUV, which was waiting outside, and fled eastbound on 47th Street.

An undetermined amount of money was taken. No one was injured. The suspect was described as a black male, in his 20’s, approximately 5’9″ tall and weighing about 150 lbs. He was reportedly wearing a black cap and a black jacket.
