KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Authorities have identified the pedestrian killed while trying to cross I-29 near Barry Road on Tuesday evening.

Douglas Edward Frazier, 53, of Joplin, was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of the interstate just north of Barry Road around 9:40 p.m. when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.

The driver, who stopped after striking Frazier, was interviewed by police and released. There is no word if there will be any charges filed in the incident.

The interstate was closed for nearly an hour during the investigation.
