GLADSTONE, Mo. — A 23-year-old man named Ashton D. Gann was the victim of a deadly shooting at the Sungate Apartment complex Friday morning in Gladstone, Mo., police announced Friday afternoon.
Gann was shot multiple times at the apartment complex located near NW 68th Street and Hwy 169.
According to police, they were investigating another shooting when residents told them of a second shooting victim at the apartment complex. The other victim, a black male, 18, suffered a single gunshot wound to the stomach. He was taken to the hospital where continued to recover from surgery. Police are waiting to question him.
Police said they are currently questioning a white male in connection with the shootings, but said they are also looking for a black male in his early 20s who is believed to be armed.
Witnesses told police a white male and a black male confronted a group of people just before the two victims were shot. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816.474.TIPS.
