KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed on the 18th Street Expressway on Monday afternoon.

According to Kansas City Kansas Police, a pedestrian – described only as a white male in his 60’s – was struck by a vehicle on the 18th Street Expressway near Metropolitan Avenue around 3:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperating with authorities.

The name of the victim has not been released pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
