KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Police are investigating after a man was shot in a Kansas City, Kansas, home on Saturday afternoon.
According to authorities, officers responded to a shooting call at a house in the 1600 block of North 44th Street shortly after 4:00 PM. There they found a victim, described only as a black male, with two apparent gunshot wounds to the chest.
The victim, who police say was alert and talking when officers arrived, was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His condition is not known.
Authorities say the victim lived in the home, and there were three other people in the house when the shooting occurred. The suspect in shooting fled the scene before police arrived.
Police have not released a description of the suspect or other details of the incident, which remains under investigation.
