Police: Vehicle May Be Linked to Burned Body Case

On Monday afternoon, the body of an unknown man was found in the back yard of a home near NE Strother Road and NE Hagen in Lee’s Summit. Police suspect foul play in the case, but would not speculate on a motive.

The victim was described as a heavy-set middle-aged, white male with short brown hair, a mustache and goatee. The victim was last seen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans and black belt.

Police say that they believe there is a connection between the two incidents, but will not be able to confirm the identity of the man found burned in the back yard until results come back from the coroner’s office – which could take up to four to six weeks.
