INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — A pedestrian who was struck by a tractor-trailer in the early morning hours on December 10th died the next day and was identified as 42-year-old John C. Keeney by Independence police on Monday.
Police stated that Keeney was walking on the south edge of the roadway along the southbound lanes of MO-291 near Salisbury Road. He was initially taken to Centerpoint Medical Center with serious injuries that were ultimately fatal.
The driver of the semi was uninjured in the crash. It is still being investigated according to a news release.
