KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating a double shooting that happened Thursday night at 63rd and Troost in Kansas City, Mo.
The shooting took place at the Underground Clothing store around 7:30 p.m.
Police said a man was attempting to rob the store when the owner of the business pulled out his own gun and exchanged gunfire with the suspect. Both the suspect and the victim were shot and taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
One shopper said she has just left the store before shots rang out.
“I really just kind of felt like, ‘Whoa, that could’ve been my brother in there. It could’ve been him,’ and your heart drops. You just kind of having a really great day and something like that happens, and it just really affects you,” said Tinnice Bailey.
