KANSAS CITY, Mo — Three separate shootings Saturday night made for a violent weekend in Kansas City. One person is dead and police are looking for multiple suspects.

A fight outside a night club at Truman and McGee turned deadly. Police say some people involved were trying to get in the Retro Night Club, but it was almost closing time.

The victim, suspect and witness started arguing, when police say the suspect pulled out a gun. The witness drove the victim to the hospital where he died.

About 1:30 in the morning, two people were shot outside a club at 18th and Vine. They were shot in their legs as they walked a woman to her car. They are expected to be okay.

At the same time, Champ’s Blues and Jazz Club at 39th and Jackson was closing up for the night when the manager was shot outside.

Owner Dick Bassett said the manager was escorting the last of the patrons to their cars, when a white car drove by and shot into the crowd. The manager was shot in the side. He drove himself to the hospital where he underwent surgery. He is expected to be okay.

Anyone with information about any of these shootings is asked to call the Kansas City, Mo. Police Department or the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
