KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police took a man into custody early Tuesday morning following a two-hour standoff at a home near 83rd and Wayne in Kansas City, Mo.

Police said the 40-year-old man barricaded himself inside a home with a gun after allegedly beating his wife. He surrendered peacefully around 4 a.m. after speaking with a police negotiator.

Authorities said a woman call police around 9:45 a.m. from a gas station after her husband left their home located near 107th and Blue Ridge.  She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
