ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — The former manager of a movie theater in St. Joseph, Mo. was being questioned by police after the theater where he worked was vandalized.
The Plaza 8, 2219 N. Belt Highway, went dark for good on Sunday, closing for business and a Price Chopper grocery store is planned to be built in its place. When workers went back on Monday to get some things that remained there, they found the building had been trashed.
Debris was all over the floor. Tiles and electrical lines were ripped down from the ceiling. Curtains were torn from theater walls and a screen was ripped to shreds. There were broken mirrors in the bathrooms Empty alcohol bottles were also left behind.
No charges had been filed by Wednesday morning, but police expected prosecutors to file charges against the manager.
