KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Police say three people sustained injuries after they were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident Sunday evening.
Shortly after 8 p.m. on Sunday, Kansas City, Mo., police confirmed a driver struck three pedestrians and left the scene without stopping. When police arrived at the Englewood Apartments located near Waukomis Drive and Englewood Road, they found the three people lying on the ground. Two of the them were transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries, while one person refused medical treatment.
Witnesses at the scene told police the driver and pedestrians had an altercation prior to the incident and said they believed the driver intentionally hit them.
Officers were later called to another disturbance at an area Quick Trip located near 169 Highway and Englewood Road where they questioned a white male in his 20s on both incidents. No word from police whether or not they have arrested the man.
