SUGAR CREEK, Mo. – A young girl told police about a vehicle which she says followed her as she walked to her morning bus stop.

Sugar Creek police confirmed that on Wednesday around 7:30 a.m. a young girl said she had been walking to her bus stop in the area near 10600 Scarritt, when she noticed a gray Chrysler minivan in a driveway with its tail lights on. She said as she passed by, the van backed out of the driveway and began to follow her, driving at a very slow pace.

The girl said that when she turned around, the van stopped and then went in reverse. The girl said this happened several more times, but once she got to her bus stop the minivan took off in an unknown direction.

Police also confirmed a second instance of a car following an even younger girl from May 29, however the vehicle description in that case did not match the description in this one. Police did not provide an address for the second instance, but said a suspect had attempted to lure the girl to a vehicle. The girl instead went inside and alerted adults to what had happened.
