LAWRENCE, Kan. — The White House has announced that President Barack Obama is expected to visit Kansas next week.

The president plans to visit Boise State University in Boise, Idaho on Wednesday and then the next day, he is expected to speak at the University of Kansas.

A statement from White House spokesman Keith Maley about the Commander in Chief’s visit, sent out Friday, states:

“Next week, the President will hit the road to discuss the themes he’ll lay out in his State of the Union address on Tuesday. On Wednesday, January 21, the President will travel to Boise State University in Boise, Idaho to deliver remarks. On Thursday, January 22, the President will travel to the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas to deliver remarks. Further details on the President’s travel next week will be available in the coming days.”

According to the LJ World, President Obama last visited Lawrence in April 2013.
