KANSAS CITY, MO — Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for the May 18, 2014 robbery at the KC Zoo.

The armed robbery took place in the Africa area of the zoo at the “Tree Top” restaurant around 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 18. The suspect is described as a black male, who posed as a zoo employee, and was armed with a handgun. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in an unknown direction.

Friends of the Zoo have added a $500 contribution to the reward fund bringing the total up to a possible $2,500 for information leading to an arrest in the case. Julie Neemeyer, Media Director – Friends of the Zoo, can be contacted for comment at 913-206-6255.
