KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rodney Anderson, 60, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in the Hereford House fire. The men he’s accused of hiring were sentenced to 15 and 20 years in prison.
The October 2008 fire destroyed the well-known restaurant at 20th and Main in Kansas City. Prosecutors said Anderson hired Vincent Pisciotta and Mark Sorrentino to torch his restaurant so he could collect the insurance money.
Pisciotta, 59, was sentenced to 20 years is prison due to his criminal record. Sorrentino, 47, was sentenced to 15 years. All three men were sentenced without parole.
During their trial last fall, jurors saw surveillance video and heard testimony linking all three to the crime — and the jury found them guilty on all four counts of arson, conspiracy to commit arson, mail fraud and using a fire to commit a federal felony.
