KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign has begun and from now until December 24, you can expect to hear the familiar ring of the bells and greetings of volunteers.
This year, volunteers will be ringing bells outside more than 250 locations across the metro area.

The money you donate during the six-week campaign goes toward Salvation Army programs and services including:
- Food assistance
- Emergency rent and utility assistance
- Affordable day care for children
- Children’s shelter for abused and neglected children
- Alcohol and drug abuse treatment programs
- Senor programs and visitation
- Homeless shelters, transitional housing and prison correctional programs
If you rarely carry cash, but would still like to participate in the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign, you can purchase a ‘Season Pass’ button.
This is the third year for the ‘Season Pass’ button, which can be purchased online at www.seasonpass.salvationarmy.us.
The one-time donations include $20, $50, and $100 amounts.
