**THE INTERNSHIP (PG-13)**

Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, who teamed up for the 2005 hit “The Wedding Crashers,” reunite for another fish-out-of-water comedy, “The Internship.” They play middle-aged unemployed salesmen who take competitive summer internship positions at Google.
SHAWN
Yes, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson re-team for the first time since the two made the “Wedding Crashers” a hit. But the real star of “The Internship” is Google. Sure Vaughn and Wilson are perfect together and at times even hilarious. But the Google logo and presence dominates every shot in an overly perverse way that makes the movie an advertisement on steroids.
RUSS
“The Internship” is utterly predictable, by-the-numbers and overlong. Still, it manages to generate some good-natured laughs and, thanks to the charisma of Vaughn and Wilson, it seems better than it is.
SHAWN
“The Internship” has more in common with “School of Rock” than the “Wedding Crashers.” It has an old school charm. Almost seems rated PG compared to the recent slew of hard-edge comedies. In many ways it plays-it-way-to-safe. It’s overly playful family friendly movie that attempts to put a new spin on dealing with the generation gap. That’s fine but it’s also slightly generic.

**THE PURGE (R)**

I didn’t screen. But it all seems senseless.
RUSS
The horror flick “The Purge” takes place in the near future, when murder is legal one night per year. The ideas the plot introduces are intriguing, but the filmmaking descends into horror clichés. It’s genuinely creepy, but in spite of its obvious pretentions, “The Purge” is nothing more than a celebration of violence masquerading as social commentary.

**SIGHTSEERS** (R)
RUSS: In the bizarre comedy, “Sightseers,” a young couple, Tina and Chris, go on a romantic road trip through rural Britain in a camper trailer. When Chris begins murdering people on whims, Tina realizes she’s found a soul mate. Yes, you heard me right. This is a comedy, a wacky adventure with a couple of dotty serial killers. The humor is as black as pitch, so one must be able to tune in to the movie’s creepy sensibilities to appreciate the tomfoolery. Count me out.

Also opening this week, actress Sarah Polley interviews a number of her relatives in a journey of self-discovery with the documentary, “Stories We Tell.” Pierce Brosnan plays a middle-aged widower who stumbles into romance in Denmark in “Love is All You Need,” a film from Oscar-winning director Susanne Bier.
