BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. — Services for Hellen Cook have been arranged and family and friends are invited to come honor her and greet the family on Friday during visitation.
Hellen Cook disappeared on Saturday, July 13 when she wandered off while her husband was doing yard work at their Warsaw home. Hellen had Alzheimer’s and her family and search teams tracked many leads and organized searches in the weeks after she disappeared until her body was discovered on Sunday, August 11 in a heavily wooded area.
Services will be at Blue Springs Assembly, 2501 NE Duncan Rd. in Blue Springs, MO 64029. Visitation is Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm and the funeral is at Saturday 2 pm.
The family asks that in the lieu of flowers donations be made in honor of Hellen.
The family hopes to educate people about those dealing with Alzheimer’s and their tendency to wander away. They also want to change the way missing person cases are handled when the missing has Alzheimer’s.
