INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — A pretty big take down in Independence early Friday. As Jackson County deputies executed a search warrant. They were looking for stolen property.

Jackson County deputies stormed a house off Salisbury Rd. in Independence to retrieve stolen property, including a washer and a dryer.

It started around 6 a.m. Friday. That’s when a sound came from that house.

“All of a sudden I hear a big bang like a firework or something. I look back there and the swat team was back there,” said Tommie Parven, who lives right behind the house off Salisbury Road. “They were just standing back there with their guns and then one guy came around and had the battering ram and rammed into the shed.”

The investigation is ongoing involving undercover operations. The sheriff’s office said they were there to retrieve stolen property.

“There were tools and maybe car parts and it was probably like 100 things,” said Parven of the items deputies confiscated.

With no idea of what’s going on, she says the safety of her children is her biggest concern.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s department says it’s still too early to talk about specifics in this investigation.
