The 13th annual Shoes for Orphan Souls Caravan will be collecting shoes on Thursday, May 8 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Finnegan’s located at 503 E. 18th Street, in North Kansas City, Mo.

The two-day caravan will culminate in Macon, Mo, on Saturday, May 10, where collections from 56 rotary clubs will donate the collected shoes to Buckner International, a global Christian ministry, for distribution to orphanages overseas. In 2013 the shoes were donated to children in the Dominican Republic. The shoes will be distributed to thousands of children in the United Sates and all over the world, including 56 countries.

Shoes for Orphan Souls, the largest humanitarian aid project of Buckner International, provides new shoes and socks to orphans and vulnerable children in the United States and throughout the world. The shoe drives to humanitarian aid trips, Shoes for Orphan Souls, offers hands-on opportunities to individuals, groups and organizations wanting to transform lives. Since 1999, more than 2.5 million pairs of new shoes and socks have been distributed to children in 76 countries.
