KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Back-to-school shoppers who like the idea of not paying state sales tax, who love the discount they see at the end of their receipts, are expected to fill the stores this weekend for Missouri’s tax-free shopping weekend.

Certain back-to-school purchases are exempt from sales tax for the next three days. Items like school supplies, clothing, computers are included in the exemption. There are specific rules about purchase limits. For example, school supplies cannot exceed $50 per purchase. Also, clothing cannot exceed $100 per article.
