KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The X Factor is back for a brand new season. Two new judges, one less co-host and a 16-year-old from the metro are among the highlights! Not bad considering it’s all jammed into a two-night season premiere.
The 16-year-old is Rylie Brown. She’s not a stranger to the limelight. At the age of 12 she was an internet sensation as a finalist for a Miley Cyrus online contest.
Last year, she auditioned at the Sprint Center and did pretty well. But when it came down to deciding if she would make it to Hollywood, the answer was no.
“Last year was pretty crazy because I never at the time had done something so big, so getting on stage I was really nervous, not sure I was ready at the time” said Rylie.
Rylie didn’t quit, instead she worked even harder. When auditions for this season rolled around, Denver was the place she decided to try.
“I had a lot of time to develop, figure out who I am as an artist so I felt really comfortable on stage. I was allowed to just give it my all without holding back because I knew what I was there for,” explained Rylie.
Well, that’s about all we can say right now! Confidentiality agreements won’t let her tell us how she did, just that she will be on the show Thursday night. But given the huge smile on her face, maybe she knows something we don’t, or it’s just Rylie being Rylie, a positive, energetic and talented young lady.
“If tomorrow is the last time you see me for a while, it’s not forever, you’re going to see me one day, holding up a Grammy because I’m not giving up I’m gonna work my butt off and I’m gonna get there I promise,” said Rylie.
