KANSAS CITY, Mo. — With Walmart and Amazon rolling out Black Friday deals almost a week early, there’s no need to wait until after Thanksgiving to shop.
Lately, it seems there’s one thing on everyone’s mind.
“I’m kind of poking around for some Christmas presents,” said Paula MacCormick as she walked around the Country Club Plaza Thursday afternoon.
“We’re just doing some Christmas shopping,” said Jessica Bohm, who was browsing with her husband.
If you’ve been good this year, Santa might be sending you a few more presents. His little helpers can shop early for the sales because the big door busters are no longer reserved for Black Friday. That means shopping starts right now.
“I think I’m one of those, I don’t want to say impulse shoppers, but I like to just go in there and see what strikes me,” Shellie Spaedy said.
MacCormick added, “I think black Friday might not be as good as it normally would be because of all the sales that are going on.”
There’s already a long list of people to shop for and the list keeps on growing.
“Jess, my wife, parents and family, a few close friends,” said Parker Bohm.
“I have four children, three girls,” said Spaedy.
Not everyone is diving toward the sales some are just there for the company
“I was specifically not shopping for anything, I was just tagging along,” said Bohm about his shopping trip.
Although some sales are coming out early, it doesn’t mean the charm of Black Friday is forgotten
“We’re actually going to try this year to test it out. We’re trying to get something for my mom, but it’s a secret,” Jessica Bohm said with a laugh.
“I wish they would wait till Friday after Thanksgiving because to me, it’s like the whole point of Thanksgiving is to be thankful for what you have at that time,” her husbands added.
Sometimes the shopping is best appreciated after a big turkey dinner.
