KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It just got a lot easier for travelers to pick up a piece of Kansas City while helping local artists.
A company called “Souvenear” installed its first vending machine at the Kansas City International Airport within the last month. It’s full of souvenirs made in Kansas City.
The idea is for people to buy local souvenirs while supporting local businesses and artists.
Travelers are hooked on the idea.
“I’ve never really seen a souvenir vending machine at a waiting area,” Zack Summers, traveler, said. “I like the whole earrings and stuff they have in there. It’d be nice to get my girlfriend.”
You can find things like paintings and jewelry in the kiosk. Prices range from $2.50 to $40.
